Tara Lee Burns And KJ Dye Win Prestigious Graduate Associate Teaching Award

On March 18, 2021, MFA Students Tara Lee Burns and KJ Dye both received the Graduate Associate Teaching Award, Ohio State’s highest recognition of the exceptional teaching provided by graduate students serving as Graduate Teaching Associates. “Approximately 2,000 graduate students serve as GTAs each year. Ten recipients are selected each year, making this one of the most competitive awards at Ohio State,” says Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate School Alicia L. Bertone. “We are thrilled to be able to recognize your exceptional ability to demonstrate your knowledge and enthusiasm for your subject, creatively use a variety of teaching techniques, willingness to accept feedback, and ability to constantly improve and develop greater understanding in your students.”

Friday, April 23, 2021, at 3:30pm, Burns and Dye are invited to attend the Graduate School’s Annual Award Ceremony, where they will be recognized for their award and will each receive a certificate and $1,500 from the Graduate School in appreciation of their teaching excellence. Recipients of the GATA and Presidential Fellowships will be honored by President Johnson and Provost McPheron at the award ceremony. Dean Bertone will also be presenting these accomplishments to guests live.
